Sunlight as Mediated By an Object

This piece is a light sculpture and low resolution video installation, focused on capturing skylight. It is composed of an LED display and a video feed of locations across the globe. This project attempts to capture and recreate the subtleties of natural daylight in a digital display. This experiment examines how light and space is perceived and seeks to find similarities between the subtleties of light in natural and constructed settings.

I used Adafruit's LDP8806 RGB Lightstrip

Framing was modeled at 1/4" size.

The Processing and Arduino enviroments were used to manipulate video and send it to the light display.
